After a long week of election drama, are you looking for something to do this weekend in the Basin? Check out a few of these activities to make this weekend one to remember!

Honor Our Service Men and Women
Looking for a chance to honor our service-members both past and present? Check out the Veterans Day Recognition on Friday at 9am at the UTPB Quad in Odessa. Listen as Colonel Gary Law will be presenting a keynote address and the UTPB Falcon Wind Band present a musical salute to our veterans. For more information, contact Teresa Sotelo at 432.552.2830.

Recycle Odds and Ends
Wanting to tidy up around the house and get rid of those old tires, electronics, and aluminum? Well, you could plan a really strange garage sale, or you could head over to the Midland College Chaparral Center at 9am for Texas Recycles Day. They will be glad to take those odds and ends and will even shred documents (up to three standard file boxes) all for FREE!!! They also say they will take boomboxes and pagers but no blueprints. It’s just what the list says. keepmidlandbeautiful.org

Learn to Ride
And if you are wanting to learn a new hobby this weekend, look no further than the RTD Skatepark located at 2000 S FM 1788 between Midland and Odessa. FREE Skateboarding lessons! Don’t have your own board and helmet? They have them available for rent. From noon to 1pm, you can start on your path to be the next Tony Hawk or on your path to a hip replacement! rtdskatepark.com
